Wild Privet (Ligustrum vulgare)
Wild Privet is a very popular semi evergreen (it will lose some leaves in frosty weather but is otherwise quite reliably evergreen) with attractive creamy white flowers in spring, popular with butterflies and birds. Despite being a wild variety, its very good for urban gardens because it is pollution resistent. It is suitable for all soils apart from wet sites. Leaves are harmful if eaten.

Prices shown are the price per plant. Planting distance is very much a matter of choice. For bare roots, 3 plants per metre is adequate, 5 is good, 7 makes a dense hedge quicker. Smaller plants are generally planted at higher density than tall plants. Pot grown and rootball plants have recommended densities shown but you can increase or reduce this density dependent on your level of patience.

Please note that Privet can defoliate when re-planted (especially bare root) - plants will recover in Spring.
