 | Golden Privet (Ligustrum Ovalifolium Aureum)
Privet is a widely grown semi evergreen, meaning that it is generally evergreen but may lose some or all of its leaves in very hard winters or coastal areas. This variegated variety has yellow/green leaves, sometimes completely yellow and forms creamy white flowers in July, which are attractive to insects, It is less vigorous than the green variety (approx 20cm pa) and t will respond to clipping by forming a dense, formal hedge, resistant to pollution and therefore popular in urban and suburban gardens. It will grow well virtually anywhere other than wet sites. Its leaves are harmful if eaten.
