DeliveryAll our prices include delivery – see Terms and Conditions for our delivery area.
Our potted and root balled plants are despatched, using national carriers or our own vehicles, on Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and we pay for "next day delivery" so you know your plants have only been with carriers for a matter of hours. We do not despatch on a Friday to avoid the risk of plants being in carriers warehouses over the weekend.
We keep quantities of most sizes in most plants available at our despatch centre ready for despatch the day after orders are received. Occasionally we do not have immediate stock to hand in our despatch centre in which case delivery will be within 7 days to allow us time to bring plants from our nurseries to our despatch centre. If in very unusual circumstances delivery is going to be longer than 7 days, we would contact you to inform you of the delay and to agree a delivery date with you. If you wish to cancel your order at this stage, you may of course do so, and your credit card would be reimbursed with no deductions.
Delivery arrangements for bare root plants (when in season) are
- up to 90cm are generally kept "heeled in" ready for despatch so most orders are fulfilled the day after the order is received, delivered by carrier the day after that (with deliveries to customers on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday).
- over 90cm come into our despatch centre on a Tuesday and go straight out to customers on Wednesdays and occasionally in very busy weeks some orders go out on Thursdays. Orders need to be with us by Thursday evening for despatch the following Wednesday/Thursday
You can, if you wish, indicate (by email to helpdesk@hedgesdirect.co.uk) where the plants can be left (if it is not obvious) so you do not need to be at home when they are delivered. We always pass on this information to the carriers and usually they are happy to leave plants without a signature but occasionally carriers will insist on a signature. We are sorry that we are, to an extent, in the hands of national carriers and cannot promise you will not need to sign for them.
